THE SITUATION

Although both entities were part of the University of Northwestern – St. Paul organization, Northwestern Media was not using Northwestern Tickets to provide box office services for its events in the Twin Cities or elsewhere.

In 2014, Northwestern Tickets developed a plan to support Northwestern Media’s various events, notably the use of a mobile box office that they could easily set up at any venue to manage ticketing services.

“When we decided to go with AudienceView, our goal was to secure Northwestern Tickets as a client,” explains Tami Kroll, Ticket Office Manager and Marketing Coordinator at University of Northwestern – St. Paul.

 

THE Solution

Since implementing its mobile box office, Northwestern Tickets has seen substantial gains in all areas that fall under the strategic plan.

Revenue-wise, the team added incremental gross revenue of $200,000 within four months of partnering with Northwestern Media. This income was realized much quicker than the typical revenue accumulated by the ticket office and has helped the team further its mission to bring money into the University that will help lower student tuition costs.

Service-wise, the team has been able to translate its customer experience to areas across the Midwestern United States. “We are serving more people, but we have not sacrificed quality in any way by taking our services on the road,” explains Kroll.

As far as efficiency goes, the team has perfected the art of operating the mobile box office. From continually decreasing set-up and tear-down times to knowing exactly what equipment is needed for every event they attend, the team has been so successful that they’ve created a second mobile box office and can now manage multiple events in tandem.
